A poor service & experience

Getting through on the phone to book an appointment is an absolute nightmare. Some receptionists are wonderful but others are not so great. I do find that they are better and more accommodating when you call for an appointment for a child. You never see the same doctor twice which means that you have to spend your limited appointment time explaining your medical history. I don't feel listened to, and I feel rushed during appointments trying to explain things, be properly examined, diagnosed, and treated.
The doctors are good when you get to see them

It is very difficult to get through on the phone lines, making it very hard to get an appointment. It is quite normal that if you do get through you are told all the appointments are gone. The system is very frustrating. The doctors are good when you see them, the struggle is seeing them.
Awful experience at point of contact

The first point of contact is what sets the whole experience and unfortunately the staff here are not pleasant and my experience is never nice. The phonelines are always busy and its hard to get through, maybe they need more staff answering the telephones. The system is terrible. When I speak to the receptionists on the phone and/or in person they are not nice. They are unapproachable, unhelpful and quite honestly they are horrible. The doctors are nurses are very nice but you have to get through the horrible rude reception staff first to see them. It has taken me two days to get an appointment this week, despite this being at the request of my cardiologist, and related to a heart condition that I live with.
It can take days to get an appointment

It has taken me days to get an appointment. When you call your lucky to get through and its normal for all the appointments to be gone. Your told to call back the next day and you experience the same problems. How helpful the receptionists are really depends on who you speak. Some of them are lovely and really helpful but others are not.

Getting an appointment can be a bit hit and miss. Today I have managed to get an appointment for the same day, but at other times it can be much harder. The staff are lovely and do their best to help.

Appointment with the nurse

Today was the first time I have been to this surgery. I was booked in with a nurse by the Chester Road surgery. My appointment went well, the nurse was lovely. I would be happy to come here again.
Hard to get an appointment & unhelpful staff

It is very difficult to get an appointment at the surgery. When you get an appointment the doctors are very good, but they are very hard to see. The reception staff make the experience at this surgery unpleasant. They are not helpful at all. They are unapproachable and the way they talk to people on the phone is awful. I worked for the NHS for years and if my staff spoke to patients the way they do here they would have lost their jobs.
Generally a very good surgery

I find the surgery very good in general. When I really need to see a GP I manage to get an appointment. The nurses are very good here too. They pre-book your appointments when you need a follow up with them.
Fantastic midwife service

The midwife I see regularly here is great. The service is fantastic. It is very personal in comparison to the care you receive at the hospital. You really get to know the midwife, they get to know you and seem to genuinely care about you and your baby. They have been very helpful and friendly, no question seems to silly to ask, and they are very informative and reassuring.
