Sent to different surgery after cutting head

I called my surgery after cutting my head and was given an appointment at a different surgery. My surgery is round the corner from me.

Difficult to get access to doctors

Trying to see a doctor face to face is impossible, its looks like they do not want to see their patients again. Phone consultation only especially if the issue doesn't sound serious to the receptionist.

Receptionists are horrible to deal with

Since the pandemic things have changed quit a lot. Receptionists are horrible to deal with, they do not care about anyone but their job position. I feel like they there just to be in employment. They need training on customer service.

Waiting for prescription for weeks

I have been waiting for my prescription for weeks, whenever I call the receptionist tells me they will send it. I feel like they have a lot to do and because of the it has been lost somewhere. Also, blood test results are never communicated straight away, I have call and chase it up myself.

No one cares

No wonder the Hospitals are at boiling point. Push dangerous opioid prescriptions at you without properly investigating the cause of the ailment because you are in 24/7 pain with no plan in place to investigate. Have to chase up ordered meds all the time. Get cut off at number 1 in the queue many times. Call handlers blunt and rude (although there is one lady who is super). Partner is definitely changing GPs when new forms are filled in.

GP was very nice and they looked after me

Appointment easy to get as I go to the surgery. Not comfortable on the phone.
Appointments are offered within one day.
I was sent to Grove Road skin clinic by the surgery.
I am having Biopsy next week at the Solihull Hospital.

The GP was very nice, and I am very happy with how they are looking after me.

So inefficient with service and care

So inefficient.
You cannot get through. By 8.10 am they tell you all the appointments are taken.
So bad now at this surgery that I go to Monkspath surgery.
I had suffered an injury, so I awaited at the surgery for a bit. the Surgery received a cancellation, so they offered me the slot.
You never get to see or get to talk to a GP.

GP cannot provide assessment over phone

Very bad during covid.
Telephone appointments can miss some very serious illnesses.
Glad face to face appointments are now offered.

Generally improved service. I have had very good experiences with female GP's.
Male GP's need to improve their listening skills and bedside manner.
I would rather have the separate surgeries and not the amalgamation of SHP.

Trying to get appointment is not good

Trying to get an appointment at GP is not great.
Lines open at 8am with a queue of 10 people.
By the time I get through no appointments left, told to ring back tomorrow and same thing happens again.

Waiting time on the phone for appointment

It takes 2 hours to wait on the phone to speak with the doctor once you get through, then after, I have to call again for an appointment to see the doctor face to face after phone consultation. In addition, I have to wait another week before seeing the doctor.
